The International Institute of Law and Diplomacy (IILD) is organizing a policy dialogue on the recent United States election and its impact on South Asia. This important roundtable conference will take place at Dhaka University and will bring together university teachers, academics, and activists to discuss the election’s consequences for the region.
The US plays a key role in global politics, and its elections have far-reaching effects beyond its borders. South Asia, home to over a billion people, is closely linked to US policies on trade, security, democracy, and regional stability. This roundtable discussion will explore how the election results might shape US foreign policy toward South Asia, including relations with Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and other neighboring countries.
Ataur Rahman Talukder, Assistant Professor of International Relations at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and a fellow of IILD, will present the seminar paper analyzing the key trends and possible outcomes of the US election. His presentation will provide insights into how new policies may affect South Asia’s economy, diplomacy, security, and governance.
Following the presentation, a panel of experts and attendees will engage in an open discussion, sharing their perspectives and recommendations. The event will encourage critical thinking and provide a platform for academics and policymakers to contribute to important global conversations.
The media will cover the seminar, helping to bring the discussion to a wider audience and raise awareness about the significance of US-South Asia relations. This policy dialogue will be an opportunity for students, researchers, and professionals to gain a deeper understanding of global politics and its effects on the region.
